you need to replay ps3 games then download the patch trophy for the trophies?

example ... I've beaten GTA IV and would now like to download trophy for the patch for The Game and I hope to do so in the near future ... after I download the patch ... I will automatically win the trophies that I gained during my first play through .. or not I need to play through The Game again to get them?
